Hotel Minerva is situated around 500 metres south of the centre of Sorrento about 10 minutes easy slightly downhill walk. You can catch bus "A" if you feel lazy - it is just outside to hotel. We stayed in room 620 which was excellent and decorated in typical Italian style - tiled floor. The staff referred to this as the honeymoon room. It had 3 windows with the best views of the coastline north across to Naples and Mt Vesuvius. The staff were extremely friendly and made you feel at home. Reception is on level 5 which has a huge terrace with plenty of seating and views mentioned above as well as curved spa/pool. Another terrace and pool is situated on the top - 3floors above. Breakfast good - typical italian style. Would highly recommend.
Friendly and helpfull reception and most staff. Amazing views. Great location 15 - 20 minute walk along the cliff out of Sorrento. Great lunches on the terrace. We could have stayed forever. October was a great time to go as fewer tourists were in Sorrento.
Not such a good breakfast and terrible coffee. There was not enough fresh healthy food offered.
The experience at hotel Minerva was exceptional from the minute we walked through the door. The staff was always smiling and helpful and the hotel is just beautiful. It was the best place we stayed on this trip.
It is a beautiful location with wonderful views. The hotel itself is lovely and the staff are most accomodationg.
Nello at the reception was most helpful! Would stay again
The staff were extremely helpful and cheerful at all times.
Breakfast coffee wasn't very nice
Very friendly and helpful staff, and excellent location / views.
Breakfast - very limited selection.
We have found the Minerva to be a truly friendly hotel, it is well located with stunning views over Sorrento and the Bay of Napkes. Far enough out of the center of town for a bit of piece and quiet but close enough to walk into Sorrento itself.
Very friendly staff throughout the hotel. Very clean environment. Service throughout was excellent.
Friendly, helpful staff. The location and views were incredibly beautiful.
Everything!!!! A beautiful hotel with stunning views and amazing staff. Can't say enough good things about it, I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Sorrento. Perfect location on the hillside but still a very easy 5-10 minute walk into town.
excellent hotel, great location, extremely friendly staff, would advice for everybody
The breathtaking views from the main terrace and the room balconies; the extremely friendly and helpful staff at the main desk and also those attending to our automobile; the breakfasts were wonderful--hot and cold choices--again, friendly, gracious staff.
Not a single thing, except that we had to leave.
I would recommend the hotel for Sorrento as I think for the cost perhaps it is one of the better hotels which wasn't solely occupied by English guests however it is 15 minutes walk from the centre of town. Sorrento is a disappointment with no pleasant beach so the hotel could use a much better pool for guests to relax in. My room was large and pleasant but rather bland, nothing exceptional for the price.
I think the swimming pool and the pool area isn't conducive to a relaxing time. The pool is small without any view.I Didn't see anybody getting service such as cold drinks brought to them. You had to get up and go to ask for something if the attaendant was there, which he wasn't always.
Interesting decor, books scattered about with lots of nooks to hide in to read. Very friendly staff from reception through to the maids. Fantastic views from everywhere. Comfortable beds. Plenty of hot water.
On a busy road quite alot of noise. Quite far enough to walk into sorrento. Could have done with a mirror other than in bathroom. Shame we couldnt swim in the evenings.
Lovely family run hotel, in the hillside of Sorrento. We paid extra for Sea veiws, and had amazing veiws of Sorrento and the harbour as well as the Bay of Naples and Versuvious. Hotel was a ten minute walk into the centre of Sorrento, which we did most evening to eat as we enjoyed try a different restaurant each evening and watching the world go by. We were celebrating our 25th Wedding Annirversary and the hotel organised a special table and made a cake for us on that evening! Loved Sorrento and the surronding arrea, Capri was a must.
